Final Days for Spring Registration

Registration for Spring 2017 is winding down!  Please click registration button to be taken to our registration page.  

Spring season will feature interleague play with teams throughout the Reno/Sparks area. 

 

Important Dates (subject to change)

February 19 Regular Registration Ends
March 4 12U-14U Tryouts and Draft
March 4 Final Rosters Distributed to Head Coaches
March 5 Meet and Greet Day- Meet your Coach and Teammates, 10am in Vaughn Gym
March 6 First Possible Day of Practice
April 3 Opening Week, Games Begin
April 8 Opening Ceremonies
May 27 End of Regular Season
May 30-June 3 Post Season Tournaments (all levels except 6U)

 

Last day for registration will be February 19, 2017.  Late registrations will be accepted through February 25 as space allows, $25 late fee will apply.

Skills Clinics and In-Person Registration

Mark your calendars for Sierra Girls Softball League Skills Clinic and in-person registration.   Come meet SGSL coaches of all levels and begin to tuneup for the spring season!

Clinic will take place on February 25, 1-3pm,  at Vaughn Field #1.  Kourtney Davis will be present for pitching instructions and demonstration.

SGSL officials will be available for in person registration in the Snack Bar.  Please come by to meet us, Q&A and get registered!!

Head Coach and Assistant Coach Positions Available

Sierra Girls Softball is seeking volunteers for the upcoming Spring 2017 season.  We invite all individuals interested in becoming a Head Coach or Assistant Coach to come forward and help support a fun and worthwhile organization.   Please click coach button to fill out application and background check for Head and Assistant Coach.

COACHES CLINIC WITH UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA

Sierra Girls Softball is proud to announce coaching clinics with University of Nevada softball coach Josh Taylor.  Coach Taylor will be discussing strategy, teaching fundamentals and effective techniques of communicating with your team.  

These clinics are mandatory and available at no charge to all SGSL head and assistant coaches.   Clinics will take place on February 13 and March 13 at 6-8pm at the University of Nevada, Legacy Hall Conference Room.  Please come prepared with notebooks, gloves and appropriate attire as there will be demonstrations.

Sierra Girls Softball League has been serving girls from the Truckee Meadows (Reno, Sparks, Tahoe, Truckee) since 1975.  Our primary charter is to teach girls the fundamentals of fastpitch softball within a fun, learning evironment focusing on sportsmanship, citizenship and character  

The League runs two seasons (Spring and Fall) and encompasses levels 6U through 14U serving ages 4 through 14 year olds.

We are an all Volunteer organization and rely upon sponsorship and community support in order to keep our fees within reach for all girls.  If you are interested in sponsoring a team or donating to our scholarship fund please contact our Fundrasing and Sponsorship Coordinator Steve Neighbors.
